NMBS Snowmass with Folks

Mom and Dad watching the Pro's coming through the finish.

Mom and Dad looking down the slopes from the very top of Snowmass (one peak).

Here is why they call it Aspen/Snowmass.... that is all there is with some everygreens splashed here and there.

Headed back down the mountain on the lift. Some downhill bikers are headed up to ride down.

Ahhhhhhhhhh! The aspens in Aspen.

NMBS Snowmass PRO's

Pro Mtn. bikers in line-up before the race. You can see the #1 plate Subaru-Gary Fisher lead rider JHK also known as Jeremy Horgan-Kobelski.

Here is the guy who won.... Geoff Kabush. He is also the #1 rider in Canada.

Look at these Pro's with folks holding umbrellas for them. (hehee)

JHK standing with some other Pro's. Okay, JHK looks like my friend Scott Ragan... it is his twin, no doubt.

Blast the Mass.... Aspen Mtn. Bike Race

Jeff chasing down his competition just before the finish! Yes, he passed him and one other guy moving him to the 3rd Place overall finish instead of 5th. Goooooooooo Jeff!!!

Back in the 1970's lodge in SnowMass..... Jeff covered in dirt, check out the shoes!

Nice and clean and packing up his gear before he heads over the the podium to get his plate.

Downhill riders heading up the lift to prepare to bust it out through the course hoping not to break any bones.... although, few were taken away this day from broken collar bones and other bones. OUCH... and those screams... not good.

They didn't end up doing the ceremonies until 6:30PM, instead of the scheduled 2:00PM time.... so once again, most folks had left. We stayed for Jeff's photo Op. LOL 3rd Place... good job!!!!!

Derek in his new shades.... blocking out that bright sun at 14,000+ Feet!!!!

I am looking over Bevan's shoulder down the mountain at the tiny cars below us making their way up to the peak.

Looks like we are driving into the sky!!! Yikes, so high up.

The Cog Railroad... notice how it is hanging on the edge there.... yeah, too scary for me!!!

Wildflower Rush at Crested Butte

Jeff climbing the last bit of mountain before heading downhill.
He did place 5th and is 1st overall.

Jeff and Brandon chilling in the shade while I am volunteering for the Down Hill practice before the race. Jeff and Brandon hiked up 2x to hang out with me during my 8 hours shift.... each way was 1.5 miles starting at 9,000 elevation!!! I think we almost killed Brandon. Yikes.

The Pro Down Hill guys coming down Lower Waterfall towards the top of Crested Butte. These guys are crazy.

Crested Butte is an old cowboy town.... Slogars was good ol' Texas style southern food. Mmmmm good, but OY, they belly!!!!

Looking down the street at the cool cowboy like town of Crested Butte.
