Angle Fire, New Mexico - 2nd Race in the Series

These are amazing mountains are called the Palisades. Huge granite vertical stacks like you have never seen before. Gorgeous.

A look from 10,677 ft down to the base around 8,600. Jeff had to climb from the base to the peak and then fly back down.

There are amazing turnouts in the races out here. Very different than back east.

Here is Jeff climbing to the finish line.... climbing because it was straight back up hill. Wild!

GO JEFF GO! 3rd Place in his 40+ class....

The rest of the riders were not present since it took almost 4 hours to post the results. Results usually are posted 1 hour after a race; they had serious technical problems obviously.

Derek's Birthday Party

Bevan in the kitchen getting the place ready for the party.

Everyone handng out in the living room. (well, you can't see all the other people sitting and standing around.)

Derek's best friend Michael (did the Aids ride with in Cali) with his partner Brian.

Cammie, Derek and Jeff hanging out and acting a-fool. Laughter is good for the soul. (once again, Cammie has forgotten to put on her face paint and is all natural - not good for photos)

St. Patty's Day

Jeff went for a bike ride earlier that morning. When he came home after lunch time,
we took Jake for a ride in the Jeep and then over to the dog park.
Me walking Jake... I am in wearing my green for sure! LOL

Guymon, OK Trip for Grandmother's Funeral

What a great time...
even though we were all gathered for a very sad event...
the loss of Sue's mother.

I must say, for a small time, this town has some charm... and drama! We were entertained from the moment we arrived until we drove out of the driveway. Man, some of the stories we were told... hysterical. Below are some photo's of Jeff's mother's siblings and their children.
Sue (Jeff's mom), Jim (Jeff's dad), Uncle Bill (Sue's brother) and Jeff in Aunt Judy's kitchen.

Let's see here, going from the left of this photo to the right we have, Kim (Jim's wife), John (behind Kim - Sue's brother), Jim, Bill, Judy, Amy (Judy's daughter - leaning over), and Savannah (John's wife).

11th Anniversary

We had a calm, peaceful evening. We went to Blue Star on S. Tejon. Reminded us of something back East - we LOVED it! We popped our heads into the brewery next door and picked up a 1/2 Gallon of beer that we were sipping on through dinner. It was a great night... I received the earrings in my ears in the photo below.
Jeff just chilling on the sofa before bed! Always looks GQ!

Christmas Eve 2006 in CO Springs

Derek and Bevan drove down and stayed with us for Christmas since Cammie

was still on crutches and traveling in the snow was not really an option.

You will notice that the title is Christmas Eve... yeah, none of us could wait until morning to open our gifts... so we ripped into them right after dinner... like a bunch of kiddies! LOL

Jeff with a TON of gifts to open... it was crazy how many he had!

Derek with my crutch in the background.

Bevan opening my gift to him... ummm, it was a box of rocks! For real!!!

Cammie wondering, what could this be?

CAMMIE'S KNEE SURGERY - (Keep scrolling down, down, down)

The date of the Accident: NOVEMBER 16th, 2006

Here is the lovely mountain in Breckenridge, CO where I had the most un-cool, sloppy recovery of all times on skis. I sure wish that I had this bad ass story of flying off the side of mountain, an avalanche chasing behind me at 45 mph and me dodging the “demons” just to survive, but NO…. totally just me buckling my knees when I stopped. That is it!

Anyway, notice the woman in this map wearing BLUE and oddly looking out of control… that is just about the spot the accident occurred.

I did fall back when I felt the severe “nausea” come on…. Of course, my head ended up facing up-hill, not the right position if one was going to vomit (rolls down hill). Thank goodness I was chewing gum because I have never chewed Dentine soooo hard.

Derek was with me and ran up hill to take off my skis to help me. He was the one who went for help. Of course, from what I heard, someone saw me from the lift and had thought that someone had died. I must have looked “a mess”.

Anyway, they took me straight to the ER, did 3 hours of tests and then told me to go see a specialist – the prognosis was not good! They sent me home with braces on both knees and with a set of crutches.

NOT a good way to start ski season!!!!

Time for Surgery…. Friday, December 1st, 2006 at 7:00AM

Just follow the sign which leads you to the hospital. Ooooohhhhh!!!!

Here is the actual Hospital in Vail, CO. You can actually see Bethany who has been there to greet me for every one of my visits (4 so far).
