I am looking over Bevan's shoulder down the mountain at the tiny cars below us making their way up to the peak.

Looks like we are driving into the sky!!! Yikes, so high up.

The Cog Railroad... notice how it is hanging on the edge there.... yeah, too scary for me!!!

Wildflower Rush at Crested Butte

Jeff climbing the last bit of mountain before heading downhill.
He did place 5th and is 1st overall.

Jeff and Brandon chilling in the shade while I am volunteering for the Down Hill practice before the race. Jeff and Brandon hiked up 2x to hang out with me during my 8 hours shift.... each way was 1.5 miles starting at 9,000 elevation!!! I think we almost killed Brandon. Yikes.

The Pro Down Hill guys coming down Lower Waterfall towards the top of Crested Butte. These guys are crazy.

Crested Butte is an old cowboy town.... Slogars was good ol' Texas style southern food. Mmmmm good, but OY, they belly!!!!

Angle Fire, New Mexico - 2nd Race in the Series

These are amazing mountains are called the Palisades. Huge granite vertical stacks like you have never seen before. Gorgeous.

A look from 10,677 ft down to the base around 8,600. Jeff had to climb from the base to the peak and then fly back down.

There are amazing turnouts in the races out here. Very different than back east.

Here is Jeff climbing to the finish line.... climbing because it was straight back up hill. Wild!

GO JEFF GO! 3rd Place in his 40+ class....

The rest of the riders were not present since it took almost 4 hours to post the results. Results usually are posted 1 hour after a race; they had serious technical problems obviously.
